What is Wi-Fi?
Wi-Fi technology (also known as WLAN) is a way of connecting to the internet without cables or a contract. In fact, accessing the internet with Wi-Fi is often completely free.
Wi-Fi devices connect to the internet via a wireless connection point known as a Hotspot, which can be accessed within a range of about 100 metres.
Wi-Fi allows high-speed access to the internet, so you can browse the web, send emails and files, and use the internet in exactly the same way you would with your home computer.
